For the first time, it was presented at the closing of the first Moscow International Art Festival “Traditions and Modernity” in 2007.
The statuette for the award was created by sculptor, Honored Artist of Russia Viktor Mitroshin, the author of prizes for many Russian and foreign competitions. To embody his creative idea, he used natural materials — greenish Ural serpentine, rhinestone, and bronze.
Over the years, 371 Russian and foreign artists and galleries have been awarded the Vera Prize.
In 2025, at the XIV Moscow International Festival of Arts “Traditions and Modernity”, the Vera Prize was awarded in 10 nominations corresponding to different areas of art:
- Painting — nominations “For the preservation of traditions”, “Freshness of view”, “National identity”.
- Graphics – nomination “Precise line”.
- Sculpture — nomination “Interpretation of form and volume”.
- Photography – nominations “Multidimensionality of Image”, “Digital Photography”.

- Applied art — nomination “Non-traditional materials”.
- Installation — nomination “New technologies”.
- Museum business — nomination “Contribution to the history of art”.
- Digital art — the nominations “Immersive exposition”, “The best digital work”.
