Beijing, 9 Fuxing Lu, Museum Complex “Monument of China Millennium” (中华世纪坛世界艺术馆专题展览馆)
The exhibition of young Russian and Chinese artists “Multicolored World” and “Youth and Aspiration” was held in Beijing. The project is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of China’s People’s Diplomacy.
Participation and selection of works
The event was attended by about 150 people, including representatives of the Russian Embassy in China, the Chinese People’s Friendship Society with Foreign Countries (CPFSC), young laureates from China and Russia, and members of the Beijing People’s Friendship Society with Foreign Countries. The expert committee and the organizing committee selected 80 Russian and 80 Chinese award-winning works, as well as 8 outstanding organizational units, from a total of 460 submitted works.
Exposition and performances
The museum complex displayed 160 paintings, (80 from each country). The event featured performances by young dancers from the Zadumka Children’s Music Theatre (Russia) with Russian folk dances “Belgorod Bird” and “Barynya”. Young artists from China and Russia performed the song “Katyusha”, expressing through art the hope for peace and a happy life.
The significance of the event
Deputy Director of the Department of Europe and Asia Affairs of the CPFSC, Liu Hongwei, noted that the works presented are a creative dialogue between young people from the two countries aimed at peace and mutual understanding. Maxim Chernyshev, Advisor to the Russian Embassy in China, emphasized that the exhibition demonstrates successful cultural exchange and serves as an important “bridge” between the peoples.
Themes and laureates
The exhibition featured works divided into four thematic sections: Historical Memory, Peaceful Vision, Testimony of Friendship and Power of Youth.
Ksenia Bezpalenko’s work Through the body to the heart was awarded a second-degree prize.
Elena Kosik, a representative of the Eurasian Art Union, shared her impressions of the event: “… The works presented here are diverse and highly accomplished, with each piece representing the artist’s immense energy and hard work. Organizers and structures
The competition was organized by the Russian House in Beijing, the Beijing People’s Friendship Society with Foreign Countries and other organizations. The project was implemented with the support of the CPFSC. The curator of the exhibition is the Chinese People’s Friendship Society with Foreign Countries, the scientific curator is the Beijing Association of Artists and the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Other organizers include the Beijing Committee of the All-China Youth League, the Chinese Association of Cultural and Art Workers, the Press Office of the People’s Government of Beijing and the Beijing Media Group “Gehua”.
